Pregnancy Tips That Will Help Recovery

Here is a list of physiotherapy tips and advice that will make recovery after birth a whole lot easier (who doesn't want that!?)

If you're getting pelvic pain during your pregnancy try to implement these helpful tips each day, you'll feel a heap more comfortable and it'll do you the world of good after you've given birth.


  • Try to keep your legs together

  • Keep your body symmetrical when moving

  • Avoid standing on one leg

  • Avoid lifting or carrying a toddler on one hip

  • Avoid sitting in a twisted position or crossing your legs

  • Try to avoid sitting on the floor

  • Exercise at a moderate intensity and low impact for short periods

  • Avoid breaststroke leg kicks

  • Be extremely careful not to slip

  • Use crutches if advised to by a professional.

We completely understand that carrying out this advice may not always be possible, so don't beat yourself up if you can't manage all of the tips above. Give a few of them a go where you are able to and your body will thank you for it.


Always seek advice from your GP or Midwife if you are in pain.
