Here is a list of physiotherapy tips and advice that will make recovery after birth a whole lot easier (who doesn't want that!?)
If you're getting pelvic pain during your pregnancy try to implement these helpful tips each day, you'll feel a heap more comfortable and it'll do you the world of good after you've given birth.
Try to keep your legs together
Keep your body symmetrical when moving
Avoid standing on one leg
Avoid lifting or carrying a toddler on one hip
Avoid sitting in a twisted position or crossing your legs
Try to avoid sitting on the floor
Exercise at a moderate intensity and low impact for short periods
Avoid breaststroke leg kicks
Be extremely careful not to slip
Use crutches if advised to by a professional.
We completely understand that carrying out this advice may not always be possible, so don't beat yourself up if you can't manage all of the tips above. Give a few of them a go where you are able to and your body will thank you for it.
Always seek advice from your GP or Midwife if you are in pain.
